Tom anaumwa jino. Jino lake linauma sana.

Tom has a toothache. His tooth hurts very much.


A man holding his hand to the side of his face and thinking about medicine.

Anahitaji kumwona daktari wake wa meno, lakini kwanza anahitaji kitu fulani kwa ajili ya maumivu.

He needs to see his dentist, but first he needs something for the pain.


A man driving to a pharmacy.

Anaenda katika duka la dawa la jirani.

He drives to the nearest pharmacy.


A man talking to a pharmacist.

“Nina maumivu ya jino, una chochote cha kunisaidia?” Anauliza.

“I have a toothache,” he says. “Do you have anything for that?”


A pharmacist offering painkillers.

“Ndiyo, hizi ni baadhi ya dawa za maumivu. Hauhitaji maelekezo ya jinsi ya kutumia dawa hii.”

“Yes, here are some painkillers. You don’t need a prescription for these.”


A man asking for the price to a pharmacist who is handing him painkillers.

“Asante. Zinagharimu kiasi gani?”

“Thank you. How much do they cost?”


A pharmacist saying the price and recommending seeing a dentist.

“Zinagharimu yuro tisa. Lakini ni lazima uonane na daktari wa meno.”

“They cost nine euros. But you should see a dentist.”

“Sawa, nitampigia simu daktari wangu wa meno kesho asubuhi.”

“Okay, I will call my dentist tomorrow morning.”


A pharmacist recommending a dentist.

“Kama utahitaji dawa kubwa zaidi, utalazimika kupata maelekezo ya jinsi ya kuitumia kutoka kwa daktari wa meno au daktari.”

“If you need stronger medicine, you will need to get a prescription from your dentist or doctor.”
