A man looking in a mirror.

Elamba ya Ali ezali ya kala. Azali na mposa ya mosusu ya sika.

Ali’s shirt is old. He needs a new one.


A man walking to a shopping mall.

Akeyi na zando mpo na kosomba bilamba ya sika.

He goes to the shopping mall to look for new clothes.


A man in a shopping mall looking confused.

Na zando, azomona te esika bazoteka bilamba.

In the shopping mall he cannot find the clothing store.


A man speaking to a shop assistant.

Akoti na magazini moko mpo na kotuna lisungi. Atuni: “epai wapi nakoki kosomba bilamba?”

He goes into a shop to ask for directions. “Where can I buy clothes?” he asks.


Someone pointing to a nearby shop.

Moteki biloko na magazini alakisi ye mosapi na ngámbo mosusu ya zando. Zando ya bilamba ezali na ngámbo mosusu!

The shopkeeper points to the other side of the mall. The clothing store is on the opposite side!

Ali akeyi na kati mpe aluki simisi. Ba simisi ezali minene mingi mpo na ye, mpe ezali ntalo mingi.

Ali goes in and looks for a shirt. The shirts are too big for him, and quite expensive.


A man buying a pair of trousers.

Na esika ya kosomba yango, asombi patalo ya sika mpo bakitisi ntalo na yango. Azwi mokano ya kosomba elamba ya sika sanza ekoya ntango akozwa lifuti na ye.

He buys a new pair of trousers instead because they are on sale. He decides he will buy a shirt next month when he gets his salary.
