Tom azali na mpasi ya lino. Lino na ye ezali kosala mpasi makasi.

Tom has a toothache. His tooth hurts very much.


A man holding his hand to the side of his face and thinking about medicine.

Asengeli kokutana na monganga na ye ya mino, kasi liboso azali na mposa ya nkisi mpo na mpasi.

He needs to see his dentist, but first he needs something for the pain.


A man driving to a pharmacy.

Akumbi motuka mpo na kokende na farmasi oyo ezali pene.

He drives to the nearest pharmacy.


A man talking to a pharmacist.

Alobi: “Nazali na mpasi na mino.” “Ozali na eloko mpo na yango?”

“I have a toothache,” he says. “Do you have anything for that?”


A pharmacist offering painkillers.

“Iyo, tala mwa bankisi ya kokitisa mpasi. Osengeli na mokanda ya monganga te mpo na yango.”

“Yes, here are some painkillers. You don’t need a prescription for these.”


A man asking for the price to a pharmacist who is handing him painkillers.

“Matondi. Ezali ntalo boni?”

“Thank you. How much do they cost?”


A pharmacist saying the price and recommending seeing a dentist.

“Ezali na ntalo ya euro libwa. Kasi osengeli kokende epai ya monganga ya mino.”

“They cost nine euros. But you should see a dentist.”


A man thinking about phoning.

“Malamu, nakobenga monganga na ngai ya mino lobi na ntongo.”

“Okay, I will call my dentist tomorrow morning.”


A pharmacist recommending a dentist.

“Soki ozali na mposa ya nkisi ya makasi, osengeli kozwa mokanda epai ya monganga to mpe monganga na yo ya mino.”

“If you need stronger medicine, you will need to get a prescription from your dentist or doctor.”
